2023 Picpoul Blanc, Sonoma Valley

Always an Anaba standout and a club exclusive, the 2023 vintage offers bright lemon zest and orange blossom aromas that give way to a zippy palate loaded with lifted acid, kumquat and orange pith. It is such a fresh, lively and mouthwatering wine that’s a perfect apertif but does really well with food too. Better buy extra bottles!

Winemaker Notes

One of the lesser known Rhone varieties that is often blended, we love making Picpoul as a stand alone bottling. It’s name translates to “lip stinger” because of its high acid which makes it so refreshing and mouthwatering. Try it with oysters!

 

Vineyard Notes

After a cool and wet winter, the 2023 growing season was off to a later start than normal and pushed harvest later as well, but the flavor development was exceptional when the fruit came into the winery.  For this Picpoul Blanc bottling, we sourced from two small but impeccable vineyards within the Sonoma Valley appellation – Snow Vineyard and Drennan Family Vineyard.
